Low Level Laser Therapy

We incorporate a number of different light frequencies to reduce inflammation and pain in a number of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. We also use laser light therapy to heal superficial skin infections.

All of our lasers are cold lasers, this means that they do not burn and glasses need to be worn during the laser session. We’re proud to offer the following variety of laser treatments:

Laser (for pain)

This type of laser treatment is used for joint pain, muscle and tissue repair. Laser for pain improves the blood flow thus feeding tissues and improving cartilage and joint repair. For severe cases, laser treatment may be required on a daily basis until the pain subsides.

Ultraviolet Laser (UV Laser for infections)

We use ultraviolet laser for all skin conditions such as hotspots and infections. Ultraviolet laser can be used to treat skin conditions instead of antibiotics and has also been proven to kill certain bacteria and fungi.

In the above photo, our technician Jeanette is performing ultraviolet laser therapy on our patient Mathias.

Auricular Laser (Ear Laser)

The ear reflects the entire body. As a result of the ear mapping the body, auricular laser may be used to treat spots, blood vessels, bumps or scars. Auricular laser treatment is useful for pets (or their humans) who are nervous of needles.

Dental Laser (PDD: Photodynamic disinfection)

We use our dental laser to destroy bacteria that may reside deep in the periodontal pockets causing periodontitis. Dental Laser will require multiple treatments (6 to 10 treatments) depending on the severity of the condition. We offer two forms of treatment: gel and injectable. For the gel treatment, the laser activates a nontoxic dye to disinfect. For the injectable treatment, this procedure is usually done during a routine dentistry employing a similar nontoxic dye.

Dental laser destroys the following bacteria:

  • Streptococcus mutans
  • Streptococcus sobrinus
  • Streptococcus intermedius
  • Actinomyces
  • Lactobacillus
  • Prevotella intermedia
  • Peptostreptococcus micros
  • Fusobacterium nucleatum
  • Enterococcus faecalis
